Instagram highlights: which ones should a tour company have?
Highlights are your profile's second shop window after the bio. Here visitors see your tours, your prices and other guests' experiences. Messy or outdated highlights raise the question "is this company still operating?"
One setting first: story archive
Highlights are built from your archived stories. Make sure story archiving is switched on in Instagram; otherwise your stories disappear after 24 hours and can't be added to highlights.
Seven titles for tour companies
Order the titles along the visitor's path to booking. Keep them short; long names get cut off on the profile.
| Title | What goes inside? |
|---|---|
| Tours | One slide per tour: tour name, duration, departure point and a link sticker to the tour page. |
| Prices | Starting prices and conditions: per person, room type, date range. Updated at the start of each season. |
| Dates | Upcoming departures and remaining availability. |
| Reviews | Screenshots of guest messages and reviews, shared with permission. Personal details hidden. |
| FAQ | The most common questions: payment, cancellation, child discounts, luggage, meeting point. |
| Booking | Booking steps and a WhatsApp link; one slide is enough. |
| About us | Office, team and guides; TÜRSAB licence number and founding year. |
Cover design: one colour, one style
Covers are the most visible design element on your profile. Make them all with the same background colour and icon style. If you use photos, choose similar light and framing for each. Covers in mixed styles make the profile look untidy.
How many stories per highlight?
Visitors won't watch a long highlight to the end. Five to ten stories per title is enough. Put the key information on the first slide: the first slide of Prices should show a price, the first slide of Tours your best-selling tour.
Keeping them current
- Refresh Prices and Dates at the start of each season and remove past dates.
- Add at least one guest review to Reviews after every tour.
- If a new question comes up three times, add it to FAQ.
What to avoid
- Highlights with more than twenty stories that nobody finishes
- Outdated titles such as "Summer 2023"
- Covers in a different colour and style each
- Review screenshots shared without permission, showing names or phone numbers
Checklist
- Is story archiving on?
- Are Tours and Prices in the first two positions?
- Are all covers the same colour and style?
- Do Prices and Dates belong to this season?
- Does the WhatsApp link in Booking work?
