How to write an Instagram bio for a tour company: 10 examples

26 September 2026 · 6 min read

Someone visiting your Instagram profile for the first time looks for three answers within seconds: who is this company, which tours do they run, and how do I book? Your bio has to answer all three in 150 characters.

The four jobs of a bio

  1. Say what you do: not "tour company" but something concrete: "Blue cruises and boat tours from Fethiye".
  2. Say where you are: the departure point or region. Travellers search by place first.
  3. Build trust: a verifiable detail such as your TÜRSAB licence number, founding year or number of guests.
  4. Show one next step: a clear path such as "Book via WhatsApp ↓".

The name field: the line that shows up in search

Next to your username, Instagram has a name field that is taken into account in search. Instead of only your company name, add the words people search for:

Ege Mavi Tur | Fethiye Boat Tours

That way someone searching for "Fethiye boat tour" finds you more easily. Instagram only lets you change the name field twice within 14 days, so make the change once, and carefully.

Why your TÜRSAB licence number belongs in the bio

Article 20 of Türkiye's Travel Agencies Regulation requires the licence number and agency name to be shown on online sales channels. If you sell tours through Instagram, putting your licence number in the bio is the simplest way to comply, and it tells visitors "this company is real" in a single line.

What to avoid

  • Unprovable claims such as "The best tours are here!" or "Türkiye's number 1"
  • Emojis between every word; two are enough
  • Lines WRITTEN ENTIRELY IN CAPITALS
  • "DM for price": it loses visitors before they ever see a price
  • Several links and competing calls to action ("DM us, call us, visit the site")

The link: one address, a clear page

The link in your bio should take visitors to your tour list or straight to WhatsApp. Don't send them to your home page and make them search for the tour again. If you run several tours, a list with a separate page for each tour works best.

Quick checklist

  • Does the name field include your company name and a search term?
  • Does the first line say what you do and where?
  • Is your TÜRSAB licence number there?
  • Is there one clear way to book?
  • Do your highlights include "Tours" and "Prices"?
